Junior Samurai's (5 – 7 years old)
Our Junior Samurai program offers a dynamic introduction to karate fundamentals, specifically designed for children aged 5 to 7. This program combines the foundational elements of karate with skill-building activities to enhance coordination, balance, and motor skills through interactive games and exercises. Here, children start their journey in martial arts in a supportive environment that promotes both learning and fun, sparking excitement for continued progress.
In Junior Samurai, we emphasize the essential karate principles that shape character and growth: focus, respect, confidence and self-defence. Each class is structured to develop these values, which are critical for both personal and martial development. By learning to set their attention on a task, to respect their coaches and classmates, and to build confidence in their abilities, students grow not just in karate but in life skills that will benefit them in all areas.
Key Program Benefits:
Commitment to Progress
The Junior Samurai program requires two sessions per week, providing students the consistency needed to retain techniques, build strength, and foster a love for martial arts. Regular attendance not only accelerates skill development but also nurtures commitment, keeping students on track towards their ultimate goal of achieving a black belt.
Trial and Class Placement
Before beginning their training, each new student participates in a personalised free trial session. This gives our instructors the opportunity to assess the child's developmental stage and place them in the class best suited to their age and abilities, ensuring an encouraging start tailored to their needs.
The Junior Samurai program goes beyond teaching karate; it instills essential life skills and core values, creating a strong foundation for lifelong learning, discipline, and resilience in an engaging, fun, and structured environment.
